Another day, another moose

Another day.

Today I worked in a different part of my department. Actually I worked out of my department but in a related field.

Never say that Public Health is boring. Except for Grad School. That was excrutiating.

So when I was at my regular desk our wonderful best clerical person ever started talking about cows and how her cow got its head stuck in some farm machinery. For some reason, that got us talking about moose. When I lived in Alaska we had moose in the yard. So I copied some pictures for her.

This is a moose, obviously, standing in my old back yard. She is probably looking for the dogs to come chasing her. She had a light colored hump and was very mellow. Our moose never chased us and never cared if the dogs came out barking. Well, the dogs usually ran up and realized it was a really big mammal and ran away.

I continue to work on my Great American Afghan. I tried to take some good pictures but the colors aren't true. I don't know what to do about that.

But here is one of the squares. It was a hard one. It was entrelac. I didn't know where I was going with it. And I did it in dark purple so the design hardly shows up in real life.

I am going to work a little harder to get some better pictures.

My sister sent me a recipe for White Chocolate Chunk Cookies. A la Martha Stewart. We are making them when she comes to visit. We are also doing a yarn/quilt crawl.

Can't wait.

New Blog

This is my first attempt at blogging. Let's see what happens.

So today, since this is my day, is my day off. Wahoo. I work for the county as a public health nurse. Until last week I was in grad school trying to get an MSN in public health. Until last week.
On Friday I withdrew and I have never felt such relief.

My husband is glad he doesn't have to live with such a witch anymore.

So, instead of having to sit here for hours doing useless busy work, I can quilt and knit and do fun stuff.

I am working on the Great American Afghan for Block of the Month. I am working on finishing a quilt I did for last year's BOTM (do you get the feeling I am a BOTM freak? That and Ravelry swaps). I have other quilts to finish-hand quilting a square in a square. The quilt pictured is a square in a square. I am not sure I like that technique so well. Maybe I should practice it a bit more.

That is my day today-my first blogging day. Pictures and better blogging to follow.
