Just a quick post for all 4 of you that read this that Laura and I are leaving tomorrow for our Ireland adventure. We have been planning this for about a year now and I am so excited to go and see the country. Flying over there will be sort of a drag but I think I can manage since I know what lies at the end of the flight. Oddly, it’s the same amount of time to fly to Ireland as it is to fly to Hawaii. Go figure.
I’m off work today as day one of vacay, packing and getting everything ready. Credit cards notified, phone ready. Clothes washed sorted and packed. (Oh, by the way, when I called my Nordstorm card they wanted to update my salary info and they raised my credit limit—gosh, thanks Nordstrom-also, the menu doesn’t include international travel. Maybe they don’t do that? Hmmmmm. Yes, they do.)
There are some updates though, since the last time I posted.
Happy is back in lockup after finding his latest pee spot on the dog bed—on my brand new carpet. He doesn’t like it and I feel bad but I feel worse for the fact I spent a lot of money on new carpet and I’m not going through that again. I do let him out for lap time in the PM, but probably while I’m gone he’ll be in his own room.
That dog makes me so mad, I’ll pee on his bed.
I ran a relay race with my best racing partner Cathy—I ran the first leg which should have been about 6.5 miles but was actually over 7 miles. I thought that maybe I missed a turn somewhere. That’ll mess with your mind a little. And because I miscalculated the exchange, I parked about a mile away. Gawd.
Start-bad hair
It was a little rainy but not bad. Nice cool weather. My hair is terrible. Did I mention my disappointing hair cut? I had this in mind--
However, that’s not what happened. It’s way shorter and looks like a man haircut. That is really frustrating and I actually lost sleep over it. Oh well. It’ll grow but I was hoping for better for my Ireland trip. And yes, I had this picture with me and yes, I was explicit in how I wanted it and didn’t want it cut.
Anyway—after the race we went to Brothers and had our traditional after race bloody-
We also went to Greekfest and toured the church
So many icons…it was beautiful. I did ask if I could take pictures before I took pictures.
Dave got a new TV-it’s huge. And it has 72 dim zones. Don’t ask.
Hard to see but old TV on top, big TV on the bottom. Jack is not impressed.
The box was good though
So now we have a huger TV.
Lacey enjoyed the larger clearer image watching on her head pillow.
So—that’s all the news.
I’ll be posting many pictures when I get back. And maybe throughout the trip on one form or social media or another.
Stay tuned.
I leave you with kitten pictures—courtesy of Laura’s fosters--
If I was a foster, I’d have 20 cats. I already have a few too many
